A masterpiece of French literature
Flaubert at his best.
Pretty short read it in a day.I enjoyed it.
Very interesting and has great stories for beginning French readers.
Easy to comprehend. It had been awhile since I read Flaubert, and I like the author very much.
The "simple heart" of the book's subject is too simple, incapable of artifice, malice, or planning. One is led to believe that she is slightly retarded.
